I am generally interested in active galactic nuclei. I am currently working with Dr. Mike Eracleous on identifying the energy sources powering low-ionization nuclear emission lien regions (LINERs) on the scale of about 100 pc from the nucleus. Specifically, I am utilizing data from HT for three prototypical LINERs and mapping the variation of characteristic line ratios as a function of distance from the nucleus to identify the source of ionizing radiation.
